Many nomadic peoples have long understood that horse meat is very useful as a hiking food – when eaten cold it shows warming properties. That is why in many Asian countries horse meat is sold almost everywhere. Nutritional value of horse meat is very high. Unlike other animals, horse meat has little cholesterol, which determines its dietary value (the meat has an anti-sclerotic effect).
