Banana bread is a flavorful, tender, and juicy pastry that is popular not only in America and Australia, but all over the world. This sweet muffin or pie is made with ripe bananas, and the dough composition can vary depending on the cook’s preferences.
Ripe and fragrant bananas are used as the base for banana bread. Personally, We never add bananas whose pulp has turned to mush and darkened. But bananas with darkened skin, sometimes in a dot, but with a firm flesh – just right. The sweeter the bananas, the less sugar we add to the dough.
Wheat flour we use the highest grade, but you can make banana bread with first and even second grade flour (the amount should be adjusted). Vegetable oil should be added refined, that is, without odor. Chicken eggs – medium size (45-50 grams each).

Here is the simple instruction on how to prepare this healthy and flavoury bread.
To make homemade banana bread, we will need the following ingredients:
- wheat flour,
- chicken eggs,
- granulated sugar,
- refined vegetable oil (sunflower oil will do),
- baking powder
All products must be at around room temperature, so take them out of the fridge beforehand.
In a separate bowl, combine 220 grams of whole wheat flour, 10 grams of baking powder and a pinch of fine salt.
Thoroughly mix and preferably sift through a sieve – so the flour mixture will be additionally oxygenated and possible debris will go away.
In a volumetric bowl we will make the dough. To do this, peel 2 bananas of medium size (the total weight of the pulp – 250 grams), add to them 120 grams of sugar.
Knead the bananas and sugar with an ordinary fork or mashed potato masher. Then add 3 chicken eggs – just mix.
Pour 100 milliliters of odorless vegetable oil and stir it into the banana base.
Add the dry mixture from step 3.
Mix all the products to make a viscous, but not very liquid dough. The moisture content of flour varies from person to person, so increase it if necessary.
We take a baking dish and grease it with unscented vegetable oil, so that the banana bread doesn’t stick. Put the dough into the prepared form.
Peel the third banana, cut it in half and put the halves on the dough.
Bake the homemade banana bread at 180 degrees for about 1 hour. Baking time very much depends on the specifics of each individual oven. If the top of the bread gets very browned during baking, cover it with food foil.
Let the banana bread cool slightly, take it out of the mold and cool completely. Cut into slices and enjoy.
